What are Allergy shots?

Allergy shots is a treatment used to relieve allergy symptoms of heavy fever, itchy eyes/nose, congestion, runny nose, sneezing or allergic asthma (chronic cough or wheeze) by administering injections of substances such as pollen, mold spores, dust mites, animal dander or insects to which an individual has been found to be allergic to by skin testing.
It is a process of desensitization over a period. Although it requires time and patience, they payback can be long-term., medication-free relief.

The two-phase process

6-9 months: build-up phase - we give increasing doses of allergy injections once or twice a week until a predetermined target or “maintenance” does is achieved.
1 Year: Most patients will see a clinical improvement with immunotherapy within the 1st year.
3-5 Year: Maintenance phase Immunotherapy can lead up to 10 years of being symptom free from allergies.

13- months and beyond: Your will receive a 4 drop does daily for the remainder of the treatment protocol. Most adult patients will notice improvement with immunotherapy within the 1st year.
